There are some aviation videos, which I watch repeatedly, because I find them so fascinating. When I am not traveling, it is one way for me to be reminiscing about my desire to be flying sooner rather than later. As it was, on the long weekend I was writing this post.

747 Time to Say Goodbye

I had the privilege of being on the very first commercial Airbus 380 flight from Singapore to Sydney on 25 October 2007. I met some great individuals on that flight. One of them, Tim Spahr, made a video that I still watch more frequently than I would like to admit. This video, was the say goodbye to the 747, and hello to the Airbus 380. 17 years later, luckily, the Boeing 747 still graces the skies today. However, the numbers are limited, and one day, this video, will become a true reality.

Time to Say Goodbye. For many of us, it was the 747 that made us fall in love with aviation. For many of us, when the last 747 graces our skies, I think, all of us, will be disappointed, a lot.

Aviators, British Airways To Fly To Serve

I find British Airways advertisements to be really good. This video, is a nostalgia of how aviation has developed over many years. From the very first flight, to Concorde to the Boeing 747. Always a pleasure to watch this video repeateadly.

The last Singapore Airlines B747 flight. Hong Kong to Singapore 6 April 2012

“And the aircraft taxies to the gate… It is through the B747 aircraft that the love of commercial aviation began… Truly these are the final moments which all of us will appreciate”.

Sam Chui needs no introduction. The whole video is well made. The video was also a reminder, about the great way Singapore Airlines celebrates aviation. Unfortunately, I was studying during the last 747 flight on Singapore Airlines, otherwise, I would have definitely found a way to make that flight a reality.

This video also strikes a chord because of the nostalgic value of Singapore for me and my childhood. It was the Boeing 747-400 First Class that I truly wanted to fly. It is also, the a product I never got to try. It wasn’t for the lack of opportunity, but I always had the option of flying Singapore Airlines upper deck Business Class or First Class lower deck. I always went with Business Class upper deck. Row 17, to be exact, for those who remember. Only row 17…

British Airways: Fuelled by Love

I have never flown British Airways, but their videos definitely strike a chord. There is an emotional trigger here, seeing parents fly Business Class to and from home.

Surprise Dance on Finnair Flight to celebrate India’s Republic Day

This might be more because I am from India. But I love seeing foreigners celebrate Indian festivals! Most importantly, the crew just appear to be enjoying themselves so much, which is the most important part of dancing.

These are my top favorite five aviation videos on YouTube. I can count so many more aviation videos I thoroughly enjoy viewing, but these are definitely my top 5. Do you know any other great videos I may have missed?
