HOW LUFTHANSA IS FLEECING CUSTOMERS…AGAIN – Live and Let’s Fly

There is no end to the stories regarding poor treatment of customers by airlines, or others that flat out ignore law or regulatory policy. Rather than tell customers they aren’t entitled to a refund (which would be false anyway), Lufthansa is just holding their money. It’s similar to what United is doing by refusing to process refunds for canceled flights.

U.S AIRLINES ALL SET TO GET A 60 BILLION DOLLAR BAILOUT – The Points Pundit

The U.S. airlines have made a concerted effort to get a large bailout from the Federal government. Of this, $25 billion is a grant for airlines to pay their employees through at least the next 6 months. This will go a long way to stabilizing them through this time, but I can’t also help but be upset that they spent billions on stock buybacks rather than save or otherwise wisely use their liquid capital.

EXCURSIONS FROM ANDAZ PAPAGAYO WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK – Miles for Family

My wife and I adopted our kids from Costa Rica, and I will always remember the country fondly. I’d wanted to make it out to the Andaz for a few nights, but it is a good distance from San Jose. Maybe we’ll be able to make it back to CR in the next few years and enjoy this lovely area!

FLYING BACK TO CHINA DURING THE COVID-19 CRISIS – Sam Chui

This is an interesting read. I really enjoyed the detailed account of returning to China during the coronavirus outbreak and how he went about planning very specific flights, transit points, and what happens when you arrive in the country.
