Background

Before my American Airlines Flagship First flight from San Francisco to New York, I visited the American Airlines Admirals Club in San Francisco (SFO) before my flight. There isn’t a Flagship Lounge at SFO, unfortunately. It was quite empty during my morning visit, and one of the nicer Admirals Clubs I had ever been to, as it was quite modernized.

Location & Access

The American Airlines Admirals Club San Francisco (SFO) is located in Terminal 1, near Gate B13.

Hours of operation during my visit are from 4:30 am – 11:30 pm (Bar hours are 6 am to 11:30 pm)

Some ways to access the American Airlines Admirals Club San Francisco (SFO) include:

  • Admirals Club members or One-Day Pass Customers
  • Customers in First or Business on a qualifying departing or arriving international or transcontinental flight
  • Qualifying AAdvantage Executive Platinum, AAdvantage Platinum Pro, and AAdvantage Platinum members flying internationally
  • Non-AAdvantage oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members
  • Military
  • Citi/AAdvantage Executive Card Holders

My Visit

I only had about 25 minutes to hang out in the lounge, so I only sat down and got some refreshments. You check in at the terminal level, and then take the stairs/elevator up a floor to the lounge. It’s modern and well-appointed in my view. Perhaps one of the nicer Admiral Clubs I’ve been to, after the one at LaGuardia.

Lounge Reception

Once upstairs, there was a made-to-order avocado toast station, which was a nice touch.

To the left is a lot of seating, and there is a quiet relaxation area for resting. There is also a kids’ room, a VIP/Flex Conference room, some phone rooms, and a business center with printing.

Seating

On the right side of the lounge, there is a nice bar and buffet area with food. I wasn’t hungry, so I didn’t nibble, but the options were a bit on the more limited side.

Also, there are restrooms in the lounge & shower rooms too.

The Verdict

Overall, I enjoyed visiting the American Airlines Admirals Club San Francisco (SFO). It’s one of the nicer Admirals Clubs that I’ve visited, and while the food seemed limited, the space was modern and well-appointed.
