The Ibis Hotel Luxembourg Airport is a 3 star property which is approximately 5 minutes walk from the airport terminal. You can see the hotel from the exit from arrivals which makes it very easy to find.
There are actually two Ibis properties beside each other at this airport. The red branding is the 3 star Ibis which I am reviewing and the blue branding is for the 2 star Ibis Budget.
Promotional Images
Below are two images representing the room taken from the Ibis web site. The great thing about professional photography is that it presents the rooms to their best advantage.
Check-In Experience
On arrival I waited around two minutes to be served and found the attendant to be friendly and personable. My room did not include breakfast so I was asked if I wanted that included. I declined.
My key card was issued and I was directed to the lift to take me to my room. I like a fast check-in experience and this one met my expectations.
Later I realised I neglected to pack a European plug adapter. I asked at Reception and they offered to sell me one for €10. Instead I suggested I borrow one and return it the next morning. One was duly found in a large drawer for me to use that night.
The Ibis Room
Happily the rooms do look like the pictures on the web site. There is a bed opposite a modest sized television which features an array of European channels including the BBC at no extra cost. Pleasingly the rooms have air conditioning.
Room Service Menu
Airport hotels have people arriving at all hours of the day. To this end, the Ibis offers a 24 hour room service menu. Of course, this is a 3 star hotel so the menu is very basic.
It’s The Bathroom
This room also matches the pictures from the Ibis web site. It has a shower with combination shower gel and shampoo and a basin. Oh, and a toilet too, of course!
Overall Thoughts
Overnight at the Ibis Luxembourg Airport met my expectations in every way. A clean room with a comfortable bed within walking distance of the airport terminal is exactly what I ordered.
It is good that room service is offered and the fact I could borrow a plug adapter rather than buy one is great. I suspect the loaners are ones people have left behind in the hotel rather than something they actively set out to provide.
