Background:
I booked the Wyndham Grand Salzburg for my stay in the city. It’s located just a 5 minute walk from the main train station, and about 1.5 miles to the old town. It was nice to be so close to the train station as I took a train both in and out of the city. There’s a mall just across the street, which also had a supermarket.

Quick Summary: The rooms need a refresh, especially the bathroom which is in dire repair. If you choose to stay here, opt for the renovated rooms on the top floor.
The Wyndham Grand Salzburg has a 4.0/5.0 rating on TripAdvisor. You can view the Wyndham and other Salzburg hotels here on TripAdvisor.
Arrival:
The hotel looks a bit dated from the outside, but the lobby is quite nice! It’s a pretty big hotel and also has a conference center.
The Room:
They have “renovated” and “non renovated” rooms. The executive floor on the top has the “renovated” rooms. I booked a Family Room, and that is not renovated.
It had a Queen/King (Some size in between) and a Twin Bed. The bedroom itself was a pretty good size, and the furnishings were not that old looking. The sheets were good quality, just the pillows were kind of bad.
The major pitfall of the room is the bathroom. First off, it is very outdated. That wouldn’t be such a problem if it was actually clean, which it wasn’t. The toilet was heavily stained and looked disgusting. And, they have big bottles of toiletries (“eco-friendly”/cheap) that were old and peeling off which was kind of gross as well. On top of all that, the towels were horrible! They were so old and thin, more like 1 star motel style towels! And many of the towels had stains. Yuck.
Service and Amenities:
Service was fine, nothing special. There was a fitness center with a small pool and sauna. I did not have a chance to try the restaurant (did I even want to haha?)
The Verdict:
I will probably not stay at the Wyndham Grand Salzburg again, unless there’s a great rate for the renovated rooms 🙂 I’m sure you can find a better option in Salzburg.

Attractions:
Ramada Salazburg, adjacent to train station was a good redemption hotel for Wyndham Rewards GoFast 3000 points + 52 EUR when I stayed there last September.
This hotel is now H+ Trademark Collection, part of Wyndham’s new branding, and currently not available with Wyndham Rewards points.
That seems odd for a hotel that was already in the Wyndham Rewards system, then rebranded to another Wyndham brand and currently not available with points.
Anyway, that will be resolved.
Prices for the H+ Salzburg, formerly Ramada, and Wyndham Grand tend to be similar.
H+ will possibly still be a good deal property with Wyndham Rewards GoFast rates in the future when the Trademark Collection hotels become bookable with points.
Wyndham Grand GoFast Reward was 3,000 points + 100+ EUR per night as I recall. I can’t find any GoFast availability to see what the current rate is for Wyndham Salzburg. Only 15,000 points per night availability on dates I checked.

Dan Lutrell – I saved nearly $600 staying in Amsterdam at Ramada Apollo Amsterdam Centre last week for 4 nights in a Panoramic View Executive King for 3,000 Points + $75 per night. Wyndham Rewards points can be purchased for $10 per 1,000 points.
Wyndham Rewards can have some lucrative redemptions! Thanks for reading!
Crowne Plaza is much better but then again you have to use Wyndham points someplace. I keep telling people that Wyndham is NOT a good program to vested in.
I see your point, especially if you don’t like Wyndham’s low to mid range brands! Thanks for reading!
