Hotel Review: Grand Hyatt Bali

Grand Hyatt Bali

Introduction

The Grand Hyatt Bali is a 636 room 5-Star beach resort complex located in Nusa Dua area of Bali and is just 15 minutes from Bali Airport.   The resort is located within walking distance of the Bali Collection shopping center and near a convention center.  While the property can host many guests, the resort is large and sprawling so guests have plenty of space to spread out.

Booking

The Grand Hyatt Bali is a category 3 hotel, so award bookings are 12,000 points or 6,000 + $75USD.  However, prices range from $151 to $210 for the standard room, so it may be a better idea to save the points for a more expensive hotel.  For this stay, I paid the cash rate, used a Tier Suite Upgrade certificate, and was put into the Executive Suite which usually goes for $400USD.

Property (4/5)

The resort is one of the largest I have stayed at being spread across 42 acres.  The architecture and building interiors are modern Balinese with well maintained tropical gardens, koi ponds, and walking paths.  There are over 8 restaurants or bars to choose from in addition to the Grand Club lounge.  Guests can relax around the beach and pool areas or be more active at the fitness center, tennis courts, putting green, or jogging track.

Beach (4/5)

The beach is large enough to not feel crowded and has many trees to lounge under to help avoid getting a sunburn while enjoying the ocean.  Also, the beach was well maintained and no trash was spotted on the beach or in ocean during my stay.

Lounge (5/5)

The Grand Club village was a self contained open-aired lounge that offered complimentary breakfast, all-day tea and coffee, evening cocktails, and a private swimming pool.  The lounge is surrounded by a beautiful koi pond that had many fish and visiting birds.

Room (5/5)

Considering the low cost of this resort, the size of the rooms were stunning.  The executive suite I stayed at was 1,400 square feet, had two balconies, an enormous living room, and a separate dining room.

Food (4/5)

There are plenty of various food options to choose from with the resort containing 8 different restaurants and bars.  The food was fresh and well prepared but nothing really stood out as being amazing.   The room service prices were very cheap, so since the suite had a large dining room, I ended up just ordering food to the room most nights.

Service (5/5)

Service was professional, courteous, and friendly with no time being wasted during check-in and check-out.  Room service deliveries was prompt with impressive food presentation.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Grand Hyatt Bali is a large 5-star beach resort well located in the in Nusa Dua area of Bali.  The property is well maintained and the beach is pristine with plenty of trees providing shade.  Cash and points redemption rates are a great value when the size of the rooms are considered.  If you have globalist status with Hyatt, this resort is a terrific option for a stay in Bali.

  1. Good info but you lost me in the 1st sentence—-636 rooms? For me, I wouldn’t travel all the way to Bali and stay in a hotel that size….wow
