In Washington for an event and I stayed at the Hilton hotel in Washington DC just north of Dupont Circle.
My stay in the nice area of Washington DC:
Check in was fine, it did get a bit busy but I didn’t have long to wait.
This is the lobby hang out area, quite elegant.

It ended up being a nice room with a lovely view of the suburb. This hotel has 2 wings that give views of interesting parts of the city.
As you can see it is a pleasant room with a nice desk and a relaxing chair. Not as many tv channels as other hotels, I think Marriott has the most.
The large cupboard has an iron and ironing board.
Here is the relaxing chair and footstool. The chest has a useful pull out table above the 2 drawers.
Phone and alarm are on the table next to the bed.
Here is the safe set on a metal stand in the cupboard. It is big enough to store a large laptop.
Some complimentary water that was given to me on check in to go with the ice bucket.
Nice coffee machine. I always remove the coffee tray and use it to boil water for tea.
Bathing in north Washington DC:
A smallish bathroom with a walk in shower and one basin.
There are nice toiletries by Crabtree and Evelyn. Nice aromas and good quality.
There is a little rack to the side that has a hair drier and other supplies.
The Hilton hotel in Washington DC food review:
The hotel has a nice bar for popping in called McClennan’s.
The Sidecar restaurant is also really good. We used it a lot for takeout for flexibility.
For any snacks and mementos they have a nice shop.
The busiest store was the District Line coffee / snack cafe and market. There were always lots of people in line for a coffee.
Conclusions of the Hilton hotel in Washington DC:
Overall everything you want in a hotel room, nice quality, and a bit of extra space. The food and coffee was also good so overall it was a great stay at the Hilton hotel in Washington DC.
A great intersection of a handful of neighborhoods. Location is hard to beat as it is not a tourist location at all. Tons of good stuff in DuPont snd in adams morgan and U Street areas. Lots of good food, live jazz, and a generally alive scene!
You are right Dan, I had lovely sushi at Sushi Ogawa just up the hill from the Hilton. DuPont definitely has so many choices.
Um, a view of NW DC is not the suburbs.
Thanks for the correction Ace. I meant it as a generic term for the areas where people live versus businesses.
