Amex recently came out with new Hilton cards with 100,000 Hilton points offers.

While the Hilton points aren’t worth as much due to devaluations, the Hilton Honors status is still quite valuable if you stay the Hilton properties often.  As a Gold member, you get complimentary breakfast at select Hilton properties.

Complimentary breakfast?  Yes, please!

The new premium American Express Aspire card comes (with the $450 annual fee) comes with a Hilton Diamond Status.  It confers you all the status of the Gold membership.  As a Diamond member, you also get guaranteed access to the executive lounge at select properties.

“If you are a Hilton Honors guest with Diamond status, you and up to one additional registered guest in the same room will always enjoy complimentary access to the Executive Floor Lounge, even if you do not receive a room upgrade to the Executive Floor.”

So, How Long Does It Take to Get the Diamond Status?

It’s actually not instant but the status updated quickly enough.  I received a lovely email from Hilton Honors welcoming me to the club on the same day of application.

More specifically, I got the Hilton email within an hour of my Aspire card approval.  (Of course, it probably helped that I provided my Hilton Honors account number at the time of application)

In case you are wondering if the status will be reflected in your account before you travel to a Hilton property, there you have it!*

*You probably don’t want to cut it too tight before you travel, just in case there are any snafus.
