Road Trips Are The Travel Choice Of 2020 & Why I Just Booked One – Miles to Memories

I’m not surprised to hear Benjy planning on a road trip this summer. Many people will likely choose this option over flying in the wake of COVID-19. It might be the year that many of us remember that our own state holds plenty of travel opportunities. Well, maybe not if you live in New Jersey. Or Kansas. Joking. Sorta.

Delta Confirms It Is Retiring Its Boeing 777 Fleet This Year – Traveling for Miles

While other fleet retirements were unsurprising, this one came as a bit of a shock. Delta just finished refurbishing the interiors of their 777 fleet with their new business class suites and premium Select product. To pull the plug on the 777 is crazy. While I like the A350, I was glad Delta still had the 777. We flew one to Paris back in 2018. The 3-3-3 layout on the 777 is one of the reasons I would prefer them to other airlines flying the same aircraft.

Why Physical Distancing on Planes won’t fly – Live from a Lounge

Social distancing on a plane will be a tradeoff. Airlines can’t fly planes with a low load factor and turn a profit. I’m still of the opinion that if you need or want to travel, it’s on you to deal with the conditions on board. I would expect the airline to accommodate distancing, if possible, but I would not expect them to *not* sell all their seats. Although some airlines are trying this.
