The bloggerverse has been alive with the latest Delta SkyMiles American Express card offers. No complaints, it’s not the worst deal in the world offering up to 60K bonus miles depending on the offer you go for. That’s good enough to have me thinking about a card for my small business, actually. Interestingly, I received an email today with another wrinkle on the latest offers…..more bonus miles for current cardholders that refer friends.
The usual offers for referring potential new card applicants is 5,000 miles. Well, as you can see above, Delta and Amex are upping the offer to 10,000 mile per approved applicant with a cap of 55,000 miles per calendar year. Always interesting times in the airline loyalty credit card business. Periodic promotions with enhanced bonus offers aren’t that unusual in the airline loyalty space, but this is the first time I remember a 10,000 mile bonus for referrals. Could’ve happened, just don’t remember it.
Did any of you who are current Delta Amex cardholders receive the same email? And yes, I’m happy to send you a referral. 😉

[…] Express has apparently doubled its mileage bonuses to 10,000 for referring new old Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express signups. That […]
There’s also an increased referral bonus for the DL Platinum card.
They definitely want to get some more signups. On a mileage run yesterday, FAs on 2/4 flights did a several minute long speech on the card benefits and the signup bonus. They also mentioned that some passengers on board were traveling on award tickets.
One thing about the deal though the email said “On top of that huge bonus for you, your friends will also be rewarded with an elevated welcome offer.” But clicking through just shows the standard public offer. 50K after $2K spend, $50 Delta credit after first DL purchase.
haha funny that you noticed the same thing. I’ve been writing about it for a few days. I saw the ad on my site and was like 60k that’s a free RT to europe…5 years ago. but i applied anyway. approved, i ask myself, “now what?”
