Fly San Francisco to London fairly regularly? Get ready to have a new luxury option next summer. On Wednesday, British Airways began selling tickets for service on an Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger airline.
While this will be the first A380 flying on this route, it will be the third U.S. route for British Airways besides Los Angeles and (starting on Oct. 2) Washington D.C. The airplane has two full decks that can fit up to 469 customers in four cabins. It will have 14 first class suites and 97 Club World business seats.
Look for flight BA286 from San Francisco to London on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The same flight on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will continue to be operated by a Boeing 747, as will the second daily service, the BA284, the carrier said.
