I wrote my take on it but for me I don’t think it’s that big of a deal, at least for me. I can understand why some frequent travelers would be really upset by it, since it IS a fundamental shift on how miles are earned, but it’s just going to move (even more) mile earning from actually flying to credit card spending, which seems to be what the airlines want anyways.
Personally, I never did mileage runs anyways, so this isn’t that bad for me. I think we need to prepare for it as it’s probably only a matter of time before United and American head this way…
