2021 is here! We’re seeing a ray of hope with a vaccine and hopefully normal times embracing us in this new year. Surely, there’s going to be a significant amount of pent up demand once travel becomes easier, safer and more accessible to people once again. However, Google search trends are already revealing some of the top travel destinations many people are looking to visit in 2021.

From this list, Thailand and Mexico continue to be some of my favorite destinations, with Maldives next on the horizon for a possible visit soon.

  • Maldives
  • Mexico

The Pundit’s Mantra

As enticing as the pictures may be, many are still adopting a wait and watch approach. Many travel destinations have their own set of travel restrictions still in place. However, I’m considering going to the Maldives in the second half of 2021, assuming that things would have slowly coming back to normal by then.

Where do you plan to travel once travel opens up in 2021? Most importantly, how soon do you plan on traveling this year? Tell us in the comments section.

I had a trip to London in August that I had to cancel. In early December, felt comfortable enough to reschedule it for October 2021.
