British Airways fly from London to Billund on a daily basis. If you’ve never heard of Billund, don’t worry – it’s in Denmark and there is a LEGOLAND Resort there apparently, but that is not why I was going there. My trip was solely aviation related, to fly on a rare aircraft which I’ve already written about.
Billund flights operate from Terminal 3 at Heathrow, meaning plenty of oneworld alliance lounges to choose from. After waiting for quite some time in transfer security, I finally got to where I wanted to be.
BA806 – London Heathrow to Billund (LHR-BLL)
19 September 2024
Airbus A320 – G-EUYK
Seat: Club Europe 1F
Departure: 12:45 Arrival: 15:25
Boarding in T3 is into a holding pen, and then by groups from there, which all worked out fine. I was on board swiftly enough and once everyone was on board we began to taxi around Heathrow to the runway.
Heathrow Airport
It was a beautiful day and we headed past Terminal 5 to get to the runway. You really realise how many flights British Airways have from the airport when you see all the aircraft lined up at their terminal.
Flying London to Billund
First cab off the rank in the service was a drink, and so I asked for and received a Champagne. Next it was time to serve lunch and the choices were a Salmon Tartare or a Buddha Bowl. I went for the latter and wasn’t disappointed!
Overall Thoughts
It was a beautiful day for flying on the London to Billund route and the crew provided an excellent service up the front. Nothing is too much trouble for the BA crews generally and as regular readers will know, I have a lot of time for them.
The Buddha Bowl had to be one of the best short-haul cold meals I have had on BA in quite a long time. It’s so nice not to have cold chicken in a dish, something that I see ad nauseum when flying Club Europe.
