Atlanta SkyClub Terminal F Review Bottom Line 

As far as regular business lounges in the US go, the Atlanta SkyClub Terminal F is one of the best. With the amount of space, nice shower suites and terrace, it’s pretty hard to beat!

The Good: An amazing terrace with tarmac views!

The Bad: This is the equivalent to an Admirals or United Club. It can’t compete with the Flagship or Polaris Lounges from Delta’s competitors. 

The Noteworthy: There are nap rooms. When I was there, they were taken and as soon as one opened up, it was grabbed by someone else. 

 

Accessing the SkyClub Terminal F

In order to access Delta SkyClubs you must be one of the following categories: (1) A SkyClub member, (2) have the AMEX Platinum or Centurion Cards, (3) be traveling in business class internationally, or (4) be an elite member traveling internationally. I was able to access because I have the AMEX Platinum card. The lounge is on the second floor of the Terminal, right above the duty free shops. It sits across the Club at ATL, a lounge I will review next. 

Lounge Facilities

As soon as you enter, you are greeted by some agents, who will verify your credentials. When you enter the lounge itself, you will find yourself in the main seating area. It has sweeping views of the tarmac, with floor to ceiling windows. The area was usually very crowded while I was there, and there were no pairs of chairs available by the windows. 

There is a second floor section that has more seating. When I went up there, there were lots of seats open. There are multiple tables to work on up there, and I found it to be very quiet. 

On the first floor, towards the back of the main seating area, you can find a nap room. There are multiple recliner chairs with ottomans you can use to rest. My travel companion and I were able to snag a pair for a 30 minute nap. It was not very dark, and there was a lot of noise pollution from the main lounge. It is not the best designed napping area.

The Terrace (SkyDeck)

The lounge has an open air terrace that faces the tarmac. You can plane spot there all day. I spent most of my time in the terrace plane spotting and enjoying the sun. There are couches, awnings and a table to grab drinks and chat with friends, family or coworkers. I think this is a fantastic idea and more airlines should install them. 

Dining

The lounge has the usual SkyClub fare. There were soups, cold vegetables and cookies. The bar is in the middle of the dining area, and it features some house drinks. The selection of drinks is not as varied as other lounges, and cannot compare to the Flagship or Polaris lounges. 

Showers

The lounge also has many shower suites, and I used one of them to freshen up before my flight. They are stocked with all the amenities you find on Delta’s business class amenity kits, which I found to be really useful. The showers themselves are a bit… red. Red tiles line the whole shower, and it’s a bit too much for me. Water pressure and temperature were good, however. 

Landing Thoughts

As far as domestic business class lounges go, this is one of the best. The sad part of it is that it is supposed to compete with Flagship and Polaris lounges. Although the SkyDeck is cool, this does not replace proper food and drink options. Also, the lounge was very crowded while I was there. Sadly, a great lounge, but not to par with the competition.
