Airplane Inspiration South African A340

In order to keep everyone’s spirits up while most of us are stuck at home, I decided to start a new photography campaign. Airplane Inspiration will be a series of photographs published that showcase an airline/aircraft/airplanes from my photo bank. Location LHR

Location: The cover photo was taken in London Heathrow a few years back. South African Airways has since moved its LHR service to an A340-600 or their newer A350s.

 

Airline Snapshot 

South African Airways is the flag carrier of the Republic of South Africa. The airline has recently been under financial struggles and has since been taken over by the South African government. South African Airways flew to Europe (the UK and Germany) and to the United States (New York and Washington DC) prior to the COVID crisis. The airline is one of the largest in Africa, connecting South Africa to South America and Asia as well as North America and Europe. South African Airways is a member of Star Alliance.
