Airplane Inspiration: Aer Lingus A330

In order to keep everyone’s spirits up while most of us are stuck at home, I decided to start a new photography campaign. Airplane Inspiration will be a series of photographs published that showcase an airline/aircraft/airplanes from my photobank. I encourage you to comment with your own experience with the airline or aircraft. Please share your photos on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #airplaneinspiration. I will monitor the hashtag and comment on your photos. Let’s all reminisce about the better times in aviation. We will soon be back in the air, but for now, keep up that #airlineinspiration. Today’s airplane inspiration is the Aer Lingus A330.

Location: New York JFK

Aer Lingus is one of the few international carriers that fly out of JFK Terminal 5. Terminal 5 is the home of JetBlue, which partners with Aer Lingus on their flights to Ireland. JFK’s Terminal 5 is home to the TWA Hotel, an AvGeek dream. With the airline getting closer with BA and Iberia, we might see the airline move to Terminal 7 or Terminal 8 in the near future.

Airline Snapshot

The only international carrier out of Ireland, Aer Lingus is still the second-largest carrier registered in the country. The largest, Ryanair, has a less storied history and a smaller global presence. Aer Lingus is part of the IAG airline portfolio. They have strong partnerships with British Airways and Iberia, as well as JetBlue and United. They have had a strong working relationship with United, and for that reason (among others) they have not joined OneWorld or the Transatlantic JV between American, IAG, and Finnair.

Keep up the Inspiration:

If you want to share your photos of the Aer Lingus A330, or if you want to share your experience flying on the Aer Lingus A330, tag your photo on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #airlineinspiration. This way,  the AvGeek world will stay connected, inspired, and with their eyes on the skies.

Landing Thoughts

I hope this new photo campaign brightens up your day. I know I have been struggling being on the ground for so long without any clear end in sight. If you want any airline highlighted, feel free to drop the airline/aircraft in the comments. If I have a picture of that aircraft/airline, I will post the photo and a link to your social media too (if you want).
