Team MJonTravel flies to Atlanta on Saturday. You already read about my upgrade dilemma. Well, is it really a dilemma since we all know what will happen? OK, not really. I get to try out 2 hotels…..both of which I’ve reviewed before, the Embassy Suites Centennial Park and my perennial Atlanta favorite, the W Midtown. Life’s good. I really wanted to try 2 Atlanta W’s in one visit, but the math (meaning SPG cash & points were not available for the nights I needed for personal business) wasn’t going to work for me this trip.
In other news, this will be my first stay (yes, it’s been a long dry spell in travel) at a Starwood hotel as a newly demoted Platinum to Gold member. Frequent Traveler University doesn’t count because I booked that when I was Platinum, and I don’t think that the status change had time to filter through the system by check in. So look for a post on the experience as a Gold and on the new Starwood benefits offered to Gold members.
It’s good to be taking a trip. The fact that MrsMJonTravel gets to join me for part of it is even better.
