Over the years, I’ve written extensively about the great deal of value you can extract from transferable points currencies. You have multiple options to choose from and transferable points act as a hedge against the devaluation of a particular loyalty program. Amex and Chase points continue be two of my favorite points currencies in this space. Every now and then, Chase offers points transfer bonuses, over and above its standard transfer ratio of 1:1.

Chase Points transfer bonus ends tomorrow

Chase is currently offering a points transfer bonus of 50% when you transfer your Chase points to Marriott Bonvoy. Instead of the standard 1:1 ratio, you’ll get a 1:1.5 ratio. This transfer bonus, however, ends tomorrow on Nov 15, 2024. This year, we’ve seen transfer bonuses from Chase to Marriott Bonvoy go as high as up to 70%. If you’re planning to book a trip with your Marriott Bonvoy points soon, then now could be a good time to transfer some points over.

Get 50% Bonus Marriott Bonvoy points when you transfer Ultimate Rewards points between 12:00 AM ET on September 15, 2024 and 11:59 PM ET on November 15, 2024. Bonus points will be awarded by Marriott Bonvoy in your Marriott Bonvoy account when your transfer is complete. Promotional offer terms and conditions apply.

In addition to this bonus, you can also transfer your Chase points to Virgin Atlantic ratio with a 40% bonus. This offer is valid till the end of the month and you can get a solid points transfer ratio of 1:1.4 instead of the standard.

Get 40% Bonus Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points when you transfer Ultimate Rewards points between 12:00 AM ET on October 15, 2024 and 11:59 PM ET on November 30, 2024. Bonus points will be awarded by Virgin Atlantic Flying Club in your Flying Club account when your transfer is complete. Promotional offer terms and conditions apply.

Amex transfer bonuses

If you’re short on Chase points but have some Amex points, then Amex Membership Rewards is also running a points transfer bonus to Marriott Bonvoy. Instead of the standard 1:1 ratio, you’ll earn a 35% bonus, upping the ratio to 1:1.35.

American Express is also offering a transfer bonus to Avianca LifeMiles. You’ll earn a 15% bonus, making it a solid 1:1.15 ratio with this offer.

The Pundit’s Mantra

As highlighted at the outset, transferable points currencies can go a long way in helping you book some really memorable trips. Over the last few years, I’ve leveraged these transfer bonuses to great effect.

One of my favorite points transfers off late when American Express was offering a 40% bonus on points transferred to Hilton. Given that I had a substantial amount of Amex Membership Rewards points already, I converted 180,000 Amex points into a whopping 504,000 Hilton Honors points for an upcoming stay with Hilton.

Another of  my favorite use of poitns transfer bonuses has been while transfering poitns to Air Canada Aeroplan to book premium cabin flights with their Star Alliance partners.
