T’minus one day and counting until Christmas. If you are fresh out of ideas and are looking for some inspiration, here are my five favorite travel items that I don’t leave home without.
Tumi Alpha Bravo Briefcase
I absolutely love my Tumi Alpha Bravo briefcase. I travel a ton for work and need a bag that’s reliable, stylish, and high-quality. This bag delivers. Some of Tumi’s other bags are a bit big and bulky so I like that this particular one is nice and slim. I’m able to comfortably fit my laptop/charger/mouse, iPad Pro, and Bose QuietComfort headphones.
Blue Claw Co Toiletry Bag
This toiletry bag is incredible. I’ve gone through many other brands, but this thing is SPACIOUS and built extremely well. I’ve had it for over two years now and there’s not one flaw. My girlfriend bought this for me as part of a kit from the subscription service Bespoke Post. You don’t have to sign up for the service to get the bag. The link in the title will take you directly to the Blue Claw website. Keep in mind that buying this kit from Bespoke Post will cost you $55 and will include many toiletry products. A much better value than the $62 that Blue Claw charges for just the bag.
Bose QuietComfort 35 Headphones
The best wireless noise-cancelling headphones…period! Yes, you’ll hear audiophiles alike talk about a set of amazing Sennheisers or Audio Technica for a lower price. Many of those models aren’t very aesthetically pleasing, though, which are a turn off for me. These look great, feel great, and block most noise. I’ve sat next to an MD-88 engine in flight and these babies made me feel like I was at a funeral.
Trtl Travel Pillow
Traditional neck pillows don’t work for me. I always tend to be a bobblehead and drop my huge head forward, causing me to wake up. I’ve seen silly looking products that strap behind your seat and hold your head up — ridiculous. But THIS product is what I’ve been waiting for. Unbelievably comfortable, machine-washable, and folds down small enough to fit in your briefcase or carry-on.
Travelpro Platinum Magna 2 Carry-On
Affordable, high-quality carry-on that will last. This is my daily driver and I’ve used this rollaboard religiously for the past year and a half with no complaints. I pack a lot and haven’t had any big issues with space. You also can’t beat Travelpro’s customer service. Briggs and Riley are a great product line due to the build quality and the fact that the handle shaft is on the outside of the bag (saving you precious cargo space), but at $300+ they are largely out of my budget.
