Ireland’s Aer Lingus is currently running a 48 hour flash sale on flights to the United States and Canada. These fares are quite competitive and are in economy class, leaving from Dublin and Shannon.

Aer Lingus offers free unlimited changes on all fare types (though you may need to pay the fare difference, if any) through to 31 May 2021. There are also other options for vouchers and refunds, but these depend on the fare and circumstances, so check the rules before purchase.

48 Hour Flash Sale Details

The sale runs for the entire day of Thursday 8 October and Friday 9 October 2020. Tickets will need to be purchased before 11:59pm on Friday 9 October.

From Dublin, you can fly to New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Newark, Philadelphia, Hartford CT and Boston in the USA. Toronto in Canada is also an option here. Those travelling from Shannon can fly to New York and Boston.

The travel period is from 11 January 2021 to 31 May 2021 and availability is wide open. Virtually all the flights feature the low prices, so you should be able to pick a date that suits you.

Dublin to New York prices up at €196.18 return for a cabin baggage only Saver fare. Chicago, Boston, Washington – they all price up the same, while Toronto comes up at €198.40.

Overall Thoughts

Aer Lingus don’t often do things like a 48 hour flash sale, so if you are planning a trip across the Atlantic, this will be as good a deal as you might get. I can’t see the tickets being much cheaper.

Of course, at the moment Irish and European citizens are not permitted to enter the USA. However, if you book for next year, perhaps the restrictions will have been lifted. Therefore, you’ll need to take this into account when booking.

Are you going to buy these tickets in the 48 hour flash sale? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
