This is an unusual way for an airline to do a business class sale

Everyone loves a sale on long-haul business class tickets, especially me. While I get jealous at two for one sales, virtually any other sale type is fair game. I’ve just stumbled across a sale which has an unusual take on things.

Paying less for a lie flat bed on a 12 hour flight sits very well with me. You can see from the image at the top of this post that this airline is decent and in fact, it is rated 5 star by Skytrax.

The Unusual 6/5/4-to-go Business Class Deal

Indonesia’s airline Garuda is offering an unusual sale in business class. It is called the “6/5/4-to-go Business Class Special Deal” which gives a little clue as to what makes a person eligible.

To be eligible for the fares, you must be two, three, four, five or six people travelling. What makes it more interesting is that the more people who go, the lower the price per person.

All prices above are in Singapore dollars since you need to start there. Looking at London for example, two people travelling pay S$3,653 (US$2,660, €2,373 or £2,090) per person. If you’re a group of six, you pay just S$2,113 (US$1,540, €1,373 or £1,210). Now that is a substantial saving!

You can book the tickets in this sale up to 31 May 2019 and the travel period is up to 30 September 2019. In actual fact, this sale has been going on since 26 March which is also quite unusual for its length.

Overall Thoughts

I am curious as to how much group travel gets a discount in general. As I generally travel on my own, pricing for groups is not something that would usually cross my mind. For those wanting to book the tickets, you can go to the Garuda sale page here.

Have you ever purchased group tickets? What is the discount like? Thanks for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.

I’ll give them props for innovation, although like you, I tend to travel either alone or with just one other person.
