- Fake Screener Probes Passengers at SFO – TSA is investigating how an allegedly intoxicated man (wearing khaki pants, a blue polo shirt and blue rubber gloves) was able to pose as a private security firm screener at the A-side security checkpoint of the SFO International Terminal Tuesday just after lunchtime.
- Suspect was arrested on public intoxication, although other charges may follow.
- Note: Some states, e.g. Illinois, have a prohibition on “public intoxication” being a crime.
- Voodoo Priest’s Primate Skull, Dead Bats Confiscated at IAD – U.S. Customs and Border Protection mentioned several unique items confiscated at Washington Dulles International Airport recently, including an uncleaned primate skull in a woman’s luggage who was traveling from Russia (a token of “good luck” from Togo) and a traveler from Gabon, Africa, who claimed to be a voodoo priest, with a necklace made of the teeth of mandrill (a primate similar to a baboon).
- Impaired Driver Tries Switcheroo with Passenger, Police Get a Two-fer – An impaired driver who switched seats with his passenger made a big error: he forgot to make sure the passenger was sober.
- “We’ve experienced that a lot,” Niagara Regional Police media officer Const. Derek Watson said. “They see the police, and they try to do a switcheroo.”
