The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card Has a 100,000-Point Offer

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card has a 100,000-point offer, as reported by multiple sources, including One Mile At A Time (H/T). This is one of the highest bonuses Chase and Marriott have offered for the Boundless card since it was released in February 2019.

Cardholders must spend $5,000 within the first three months to earn the 100,000 points. Normally, the Boundless Card offers 75,000 points for $3,000 within the same time period.

A Quick Overview

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card is an interesting one whose value lies in its perks. You will receive Marriott Silver Elite Status, 15 Elite Night Credits, and one free night per year, among other perks. To counter the perks, there is a $95 annual fee (NOT waived the first year).

I do not recommend putting non-Marriott expenses on the Boundless Card after earning the sign-up bonus. That’s because Marriott points are not that valuable, and the card has a poor earning structure. You will receive 6x points per dollar for Marriott purchases and 2x points for non-bonus spend. Unlike cards from several competitors, there are no other bonus categories. Therefore, there is not much incentive to use this card for expenses outside of Marriott.

Analysis

What you’re getting with this limited time offer is an extra 25,000 Marriott points for an extra $2,000. While any offer worth at least 100,000 points looks enticing, your mileage may vary. Always look for the minimum spend because that’s what you must spend to actually get the points.

The spend requirement is a whopping $5,000, which is a lot for some people. However, people are more likely to spend more during the fourth quarter because of holiday shopping. Holiday shopping can be a great way to hit minimum spend for a new card during the fourth quarter. And the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card could be a good one if you want to “gift yourself” with 100,000 Marriott points.

The Chase 5/24 Rule is another obstacle that must be noted. Make sure you are under 5/24 before applying, otherwise you will be denied.

Final Draw

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card is worth getting and keeping if you can consistently take advantage of its perks for years to come. That should not be too hard because the value of the free night alone is worth at least $95. After that, the Silver Elite Status and Elite Night Credits become extras, whether you can extract value from them or not.

This 100,000-point bonus offer can be worth it if you are under 5/24 and have enough expenses over a three-month period (namely the fourth quarter). It’s an improvement over the normal 75,000-point bonus. But you must ask yourself whether spending an $5,000 is too much.
