I was working on an event involving Delawares most famous resident so I got to spend a week at the Homewood Suites in Brandywine in Delaware.
There are 3 hotels next to each other on this road. A Courtyard and a Holiday Inn Express with this Homewood.
It is great staying at one of the Suites hotels (Embassy, Homewood, etc) because of the kitchen and lounge area that is part of your room.
I would stay in one of the Suites on every trip if it was possible. From a size point of view I found out that there are 113 rooms in this hotel.
During the week I did this review you could stay in this room for just under $200 a night.

On arriving:
Small check-in area. I am Hilton Honours Platinum so I can normally get a high room and later check out if I so require.
A useful little store is available with all sorts of goodies, including microwaveable items like noodles and oatmeal.
This lounge area is as you walk in. Really luxurious chairs and a great place to wait or even just to hang out for a while.
You can sit in this lounge anytime to watch tv but in the mornings it is where you will enjoy the free hot breakfast that is provided. Yes, even though they provide you with a kitchen in your room there is also a free breakfast.
And here is a small view of the breakfast area showing the hot drinks that are provided. Sorry I didn’t get any more pictures of the breakfast.
A pleasant gym is provided, including weights, a treadmill, stepping and rowing machines and more.
There is a rather large social, grilling and barbecue area outside next to the pool. At least 2 grills are provided with various types of seating.
The pool is rather large, has easy access points and there are also change rooms available. A lovely area to spend your day in the sun.
My room/suite:
The beds look rather basic with no luxury bedding but the sheets are great, the pillows firm or soft and the room is comfortable.
The cupboard contains extra bedding, an iron and ironing board, luggage rack and a rare vertical side entry safe.
This is the table between the 2 beds. Lamp, phone, and a radio with recharging plug points.
Of course as a result of the rooms being suites, you get more than 1 room. Here is the living room with settee, footstool, table, side chair, tv and cabinet with drawers. This cabinet is the main place for you to put your clothes.
This is the small dining table. It has 3 chairs , a lamp and the lamp stand has charging ports too.
I really enjoyed having this kitchen. I could boil water for tea, heat up any food I purchased, and keep milk and cheese and drinks cold. Even keep ice cream frozen because of the freezer. You can see that they provide 4 of each item when it comes to cutlery and crockery, I guess the default market is 4 people, 2 adults and 2 children.
The bathroom:
A large sized bathroom. I had been issued with a room for someone in a wheelchair. There are many handles all over to help with access, a bench in the shower and more than enough space for a wheelchair to move around.
Elegant counter with nice looking tap and a neat arrangement with small rolled up hand towels, soap and skin wipes. Tissues are also provided.
This was the stand alone shower. 2 small shelves for soap and razor are really handy.
Nice to have a separate hand shower with its own control, it was fun to use.
Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided by Zero degrees were in squeeze bottles.
Conclusion:
Another great stay in one of the ‘suites’ types of hotels. I believe you can never go wrong with them. They give you a lot for the little money you spend.
A kitchen plus a free hot breakfast. Full pool socializing area. Free parking on site. Proper size bathroom. Great reasons for staying.
I will always recommend staying at the Homewood Suites and I enjoyed this one too.
