Review: Mortage Solutions Financial Priority Pass Lounge Colorado Springs Airport

I’ve visited countless airport lounges since I first started traveling. The Priority Pass program is one reason I’ve been able to visit so many airport lounges. With over 1000 lounges across the world, Priority Pass is a must for frequent flyers. Priority Pass lounges tend to be hit or miss. What is consistent about Priority Pass lounges (and most airline lounges in general) is that lounges are typically found in larger airports. However, it appears I’ve found an outlier. With just 1.4 million annual passengers, Colorado Springs Municipal Airport features a Priority Pass lounge.

Colorado Springs Airport, thanks to its small size, is a pleasure to fly in and out of. The rental car return center and most parking lots are just steps away from the terminal entrance. Security lines are short and the terminal is easily navigable. That last thing you’d expect to find in this 12 gate airport is a lounge. Yet, that’s just what you’ll find halfway down the terminal.

Before a recent flight from Colorado Springs to Dallas-Fort Worth, I decided to visit the small lounge. I wasn’t expecting much but I figured waiting in the lounge beat waiting in the dated terminal.

Lounge Location

Colorado Springs Airport features a single terminal with just 12 gates. Along each side of the terminal are restaurants, a few shops, and other services. A little more than halfway down the concourse on the west side is the airport’s Priority Pass lounge, the Mortgage Solutions Financial Lounge. The entrance is easy to miss as it’s a single frosted door setback four feet from the concourse.

Check-In and Access

The lounge has a fairly generous access policy. Though unconnected to an airline, lounge network, or credit card, the Mortgage Solutions Financial Lounge offers access to a variety of passengers include elite frequent flyers, travelers in premium cabins, and credit card holders.

Check-in went smoothly. I handed the attendant my Priority Pass membership card which allowed me and a guest to access the lounge. The attendant was professional and welcoming.

Lounge Amenities

Again, this lounge is very small. The size and location of this lounge is one reason I decided to review it. That said, amenities are limited, however, comparable to what you’d find in many domestic Priority Pass lounges.

To the right of the check-in desk was a selection of light snacks. In the morning, the time at which I visited the lounge, muffins were offered alongside salty and sweet packaged snacks. Behind the check-in counter was a variety of soft drinks, coffee, and tea. One thing I did find interesting is that this lounge served full-sized bottled water, a rarity at most lounges. As for beer and wine, it appears guests are able to purchase drinks from a nearby bar and bring them into the lounge should they desire a drink.

Seating was standard. There was an assortment of chairs and couches. Additionally, there was a meeting room in the back corner of the lounge. Other amenities included power outlets, flight monitors, newspapers, and free wi-fi. The wi-fi was fast and worked great throughout my visit.

My visit to the Mortgage Solutions Financial lasted roughly an hour. During that hour, less than a dozen or so guests came and went. Though the terminal wasn’t overcrowded, the lounge did provide a more enjoyable and private ambiance that made the wait before boarding tolerable.

Overall: Colorado Springs Priority Pass Lounge

I’m still amazed that an airport that serves less than two million passengers annually, features a lounge. I typically associated lounges with larger hubs and airports with loyal elite frequent flyers. Though the Mortgage Solutions Financial lounge wasn’t anything extraordinary, it does provide guests a comfortable and quiet place to relax or work before their flight.

Have you ever visited a Priority Pass lounge in an unusual airport or location?
