Background:

To my surprise, there was a lounge option at the relatively small Savannah/Hilton Head Airport. I found it when I was checking on my AMEX App for lounges available to access with my AMEX Platinum Card. The Savannah Airport Lounge is called the Passport Club, and it is located near gate 12 post-security.

Access:

Access is granted to Passport Club Members, American Express Platinum card holders, First Class Ticket Holders, Southwest Airlines A-List, and A-List Preferred Members. You can bring two guests as well.

Additionally, the sign at the front desk stated that you could buy a one-day pass for just $5.

My Visit:

I entered the Passport Club Savannah Airport Lounge around 4 pm on a Wednesday. I showed my AMEX Platinum Card and a friendly agent quickly let me in plus my guest. There were about 10 people in the lounge, which allowed for some seating choices as the lounge has enough seating for 30 people.

It’s essentially just one large room, with windows that allow you to see the planes and control tower which was nice. Along the windows, there is hightop seating.

Food and Beverage:

There’s a station for self-serve water, teas, and coffee.

Additionally, behind the check-in counter are some snacks. They have some cookies from Byrd’s which is a local Savannah company, as well as some prepackaged cookies and other snacks.

Interestingly, you cannot help yourself and have to ask the agent. The cups to hold the cookies provided are also tiny, so if you like the cookies you’ll have to make a few rounds.

Lastly, there’s a small fridge off to the side of the snacks with some soft drinks and bottled water. You can help yourself to these drinks, thankfully.

Bathrooms:

To my surprise, for such a small lounge, there are two single-user bathrooms. It was surprisingly large and clean, but outdated. They even had this interesting mouthwash device.

The Verdict:

Overall, the Passport Club was probably one of the most bare-bones and basic airport lounge that I have ever visited. That being said, if you want to grab a quick soda and sit in somewhere super quiet, I suppose it’s worth a visit (even with a $5 day pass if you don’t qualify for free access). Because Savannah Airport is relatively nice, it’s honestly not much different to wait in the terminal area.
