I always like seeing a new safety video when flying as it keeps things fresh. Malaysia Airlines have just dropped their new all singing, all dancing one and I have to say, I love it!

Over the past number of years, the boring safety presentation has been pepped up by quite a few airlines. Air New Zealand are probably the most famous, with a variety of interesting ones which I have written about before.

A New Safety Video For Malaysia Airlines

Officially celebrating Malaysian performing arts, the new safety video features a variety of different performance segments. There are traditional dances, some sport, even a bunch of people emulating Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody video at one point. You really have to see it to believe it!

All the usual messages are present, and I particularly liked how it said that smoking had been prohibited since the 1990s but they still have to mention it. A little dig at the fact the regulations still require it in the videos, perhaps? I grinned!

Overall Thoughts

At just over six minutes (minus the credits, which account for the last minute or so) it is not a short video by any means. However, I’d say people will be quite engrossed in it, as there is a lot going on all the time.

I think it really works as a showcase for the oneworld alliance carrier. Everyone seems so genuinely happy to be there and are having such fun that I’d want all flights to be like this… well, in Party Class anyway! I couldn’t take it all the time.

What do you think of the new safety video from Malaysia Airlines? Have you flown with them before and what did you think? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
