The Spanish airline Iberia is offering some sweet deals in business class to Mexico. This is excellent for oneworld alliance frequent flyers wishing to visit the land of the Sombrero.
On the route, Iberia uses the Airbus A340 which features the previous generation of business class at the airline. This still has lie flat seats and is, by all reports, quite a comfortable way to fly.
Mexico Business Class Deal
When searching for the flights, you will find them from Madrid to places such as Cancun and Mexico city. For a slightly higher fare, you can start in Seville, Bilbao, Palma, Valencia or Santander as well.
Overall Thoughts
Seeing a decent deal for Iberia business class is not very common, so those wanting to sample the Spanish carrier’s hospitality now have a chance to do so at a low fare. You could use Mexico as a stop off point on the way to the USA or South America if you wished as well.

Not sure what you mean by their previous generation of business class seat on the A340. That looks identical to what is on all A330s which is their current generation. I thought they retrofitted all of the A340s (pretty sure they did). Their previous seat was 2-2-2, but now it’s 1-2-1 staggered. I actually think they have a great business class offering. The international lounge in Madrid is really nice as is the terminal itself.
Yes, from what I understand the Airbus A350 has a new seat, so this one on the current fleet is now the previous generation seat. Unless I’ve completely missed something here 🙂 I agree, the lounges in Madrid are certainly world class and the facility is very nice indeed. Thanks for the comment!
I read a review of the 350. The seat largely looked the same, BUT if my eye spies correctly, it looks like they removed the built in massage function from what I could see. I’d hope not though as that is such a nice feature.
Did you see anything majorly different other than the lack of massage and an apparent slight misalignment on the 350 seat? I’m hoping to fly it one day, but in MIA they have exclusively 330s now
For me, I was basing my thoughts on this review – https://www.headforpoints.com/2018/07/31/iberia-a350-business-class-review/ – as I haven’t actually flown Iberia from memory. It does look similar, but different, so who knows. I guess I’ll just have to try to fly it sometime!
