I got to spend a week at the very enjoyable Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort and Spa.
Indian Wells is in the California desert near Palm Springs and Coachella. It is a great place to spend warm months, it has one of the densest concentrations of golf courses in the country.
There are many resorts and spas in the area from most hotel groups and I was lucky enough to enjoy the Hyatt this time.
During the week I am doing this review the rooms are available for less than $299 per night.
There is a fun huge red chair outside the hotel which makes it very distinctive.
The conference center was an enjoyable part of this visit. It has a lovely seating area for eating outside that looks over the golf course. A marvelous view.
My very enjoyable room:
The room is a lovely 2 level room with the bed, side tables and chest of drawers on the first level and the settee, tv and unit, table and chair and the balcony on the lower level.
The fold-out-bed settee with lounge chair and center table.
A desk with chair and lamp.
Here is the view of the room from the downstairs area showing the tv and the big mirror on the left.
This was the view from my balcony of the front of the hotel.
The nice bathroom:
Here is the bathroom showing the sink and the walk in shower. Nice tiling and glass.
This bathroom has a walk-in shower as well as this lovely bath. I did enjoy bathing in it after a busy day.
The shower has a detachable head for use as a hand spray which is always nice.
Balmain bath products are provided.
There was also lotion as well as ear buds, a shower cap and tissues available. A rather lovely bathroom.
All the room has to provide:
The room has a refrigerator which is always nice. There is a store downstairs where I could get milk and cheese and yoghurt.
The cupboard has a safe, luggage racks, shoe cleaning supplies and a lovely robe.
Coffee maker with ice bucket and 2 provided bottles of water. The ice machine was about 40 yards down the hall.
Outside the room facilities:
This hotel has a lovely water park. There are at least 2 pools as well as a water slide and a lazy river available. While I was there they were refurbishing some of the other pool areas. When everything is open it is a vast area of pools.
The lazy river with the water slide tower on the left.
There are private villas for rent at the pool as well as drinks and food for order from the Oasis pool bar.
Inside the hotel:
Here is the Lantana restaurant. I had 2 pleasant meals there with the rack of lamb being very tasty. During one meal I had the Ale Onion Soup which was a disappointing hodge podge of flavors, a bit of a mess.
I also hung out at the bar, a very pleasant time was had there. It has nice views of the large deck and lovely palm trees.
This is the store / pizza place / sandwich place / coffee shop. It has a variety of items available, very useful.
Non-residents can visit the pool complex and the spa. Validated parking is for the spa guests and these are the parking rates for the other visitors. The spa did seem to be a very relaxing place with a very pleasant outside area with deck chairs and nice fountains.
The palm trees provide a lovely environment, this is the view of sunrise over the golf course.
My conclusion:
This Hyatt is one of the good ones. The rooms are nice and make you feel special and the pool facilities are such fun.
I would highly recommend you consider this Park Hyatt if you are spending time in Palm Springs or Indian Wells.
