I recently completed a First Class transcon flight aboard American’s new A321T aircraft. It was a great flight, and I posted a trip report here. One thing barely touched on was the first class amenity kit. It’s a perfectly sized little bag with the things one might need on a flight. As far as I can tell, it’s the same kit they hand out in Business Class on their international flights.
Inside the kit are socks, eye shades, ear plugs, tissues, lotions, lip balm, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and a small pen. Just what one needs on a flight.
It’s a pretty basic kit, but I can’t think of anything else I’d want, so I’ll call it perfectly serviceable. Knowing that many readers like to collect things like this, I thought I’d give the kit away. It is unused other than taking the contents out for the photo above. All you have to do is comment to this post with anything travel related, and can even be your own thoughts on the A321T service, amenity kit, etc. Just keep it clean. I’ll pick the winner via random.org tomorrow at noon EDT here in Atlanta.
CONTEST CLOSED – Winner TBA
Is it really necessary for them to wrap the pen in plastic?
Shouldnt the first class Amenity kit be different than what they give in business ?
i like that it includes tissues–a lot don’t.
Thanks for the giveaway MJ. I just booked a trip on it but it’s not till next March! I can’t wait.
Looks like a good soft case for all those wires, cables, etc etc
It is so nice to have travel kits with a designer flair. This kit is actually an Eames design. My husband and I collect his chairs and furnitures.
The amenity kits do come in handy when you are traveling with kids who tend to forget to pack everything.
Looks great.
Travel sizes are good.
Like the print of the amenity kit bag, kinda tasteful.
I use my old UAL bag for holding all my electronic cables; works great!~
Kit looks great. Thanks for the informative blog and the giveaways. Will travel to Europe soon if the Icelandic volcano doesn’t disrupt my flights.
Wasn’t it AA who had an iPad case amenity kit? That was a great idea.
Have seen the A321T at JFK & LAX – beautiful airplane – love the sharklets
my 9 year old would love this – she and I are both obsessed with amenity kits. UA GlobalFirst has my fave contents!
About to fly UA for the first time in a while. Feels weird. I was able to buy up to first for only $39 though.
Much better that what we get from Aeromexico 🙂
Everything is good, but there’s no shaver?
It looks perfectly reasonable for the flight.
I was really intruiged by your review and definitely want to check it out soon.
it does look complete for a trancon flight.
I’ve flown UA PS, and am curious about the new AA 321’s. I also hope JetBlue brings Mint to BOS!
Amenity bags are awesome for holding computer cables/chargers/adaptors/mice/etc when traveling!
i’m glad to see upgraded domestic 1st/business class flights. the gap between intl flights is smaller now.
we’ve never been on a cruise before, and said we never will….but I must admit, your trip reports of your cruises do make it look pretty good.
This would sure be an upgrade from what I currently carry in my backpack. Thanks for the opportunity!
Looks like a great kit for a cross-country flight!
Not JFK based. Haven’t had chance to try A321T.
Love those amenity kits.
Better amenity kit than what you’d get in cattle class!
Get to try out A321T J next year, so no chance of getting this there
I use my old First class amenity kit bag during flights still. I carry my lotion, contact case/solution, pen, sanitizers, and charger
I am enjoying the debate about leg room and reclining. The best suggestion I have seen is that it be regualted and standard. I am for permanent mid-tipped seats. No arguing or negotiating there!
I’ll be on the 321T in October, though the best I can hope for is an upgrade to J.
This kit does have everything you would seem to need in first or business class. First Class could have something added like tweezers or nail clippers. Just my suggestion. Thanks for the opportunity!
There is such a debate going on over 1st class product. Interesting that AA would use the same exact amenity kit in both business AND 1st class…
