US Not Dropping Pre-Departure Covid Test Requirement – Running with Miles

The one-day-before-return-flight COVID test is inane. It has frustrated returning U.S. travelers since it was rolled out. Not surprised that nearly half of polled respondents say that dropping the test requirement would make them more likely to travel.

It’s idiocy to require Covid tests? Won’t read this blog again. Whatever.

Too Many

BA had to cancel a bunch of flights because masks were no longer required and a bunch of crew members got sick. So how is that a good thing? And not requiring testing just allows more sick people to fly into the US. How is that a good thing? Just because people are tired of covid does not mean that the risks go away.

Bob

Newsflash: Covid is already in the US. Testing returning citizens is not going to materially affect the rate of Covid transmission here

Andie

But it will affect Covid transmission on flights. Although what would be better is for the airline to actually enforce flyers wearing their masks.
