With Bank of America’s recent new rules (well, they’ve likely been in effect, we just didn’t know the policy), Chase’s 5/24, Barclays stinginess toward many folks, and American Express’ “abuse” popup box and once-per-lifetime rules, things are getting tough. Slower and steadier may be the way to go. As Leana notes, maximizing bonus categories and spending should definitely be a focus. It hurts, as sign-up bonuses were once essentially everything.
