The much awaited Chase Sapphire Reserve refresh was met a lot of interest and skepticism at the same time. If you scour the internet, you’ll see a lot of pieces waxing eloquent about the card or panning the card as well. However, Chase also released a brand new product called the Sapphire Reserve for Business Credit Card. This card is offering a whopping introductory bonus of 200,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points. Similar to the personal card, it also carries an annual fee of $795. So, how does it stack up? Let’s have a look.
Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business Credit Card
Welcome Bonus
With this welcome bonus offer on the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business Credit Card, you’ll earn a welcome bonus of 200,000 Ultimate Rewards points. You’ll earn the welcome bonus once you spend $30,000 in the first 6 months of card membership. While the spend requirement is pretty steep, 200,000 points is a massive bonus if your business can spend close to $5,000 per month on the card.

Earning Points
This card earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points on spend in the following categories:
- 8x points when you spend with Chase Travel
- 5x points on Lyft rides (ending Sep 30, 2027)
- 4x points when you book directly with hotels and airlines
- 3x points when you spend on social media and search engine advertising
- 1x points on all other purchases
In essence, you can rack up points quickly if you have business spend on travel and advertising. This is pretty generic for most travel credit cards targeting small businesses.
Benefits and Perks
The card offers statement credits split across different time frames. You can recoup most of the value from the annual fee if you have a decent amount of spend on travel and business services. Here’s how the credits stack up:
- $300 travel credit (during each card anniversary year)
- $500 in credit with the Edit ($250 Jan-Jun and another $250 Jul-Dec during each year) – this benefit i similar to Amex’s Fine Hotels & Resorts program
- Lounge Access: Chase Sapphire Lounge Access in addition to Priority Pass Select Membership (2 guests allowed free of charge)
- $120 Global Entry or TSA PreCheck or NEXUS Fee Credit
Addition Credits for Small Businesses
- $400 ZipRecruiter Credit: This credit is split bi-annually as well. You’ll earn $200 in credits each year during January to June and then another $200 from July to December
- DoorDash Credits & Membership: You’ll enjoy complimentary DashPass membership with DoorDash, in addition to $25 promos each month to spend on restaurants, groceries, retail order and more
- $200 Google Workspace Credit: This is a flat annual credit for the entire year, for purchases made directly with Google Workspace
- $100 Gift Card Credit: You can buy gift cards each year and get a credit for up to $100 when you buy via this link
Added Benefits for Big Spenders
When you spend $120,000 or more in a calendar year, you’ll unlock some amazing additional benefits:
- $500 in credits automatically applied to your account for The Shops at Chase
- Complimentary IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite Status for the calendar year in which you qualify and the one after that
- Southwest Rapid Rewards A-List Status for the calendar year in which you qualify and the one after that
- $500 Chase Travel Credit with Southwest Airlines valid for the remainder of the calendar year in which you qualify, expiring at the end of the following calendar year
- IHG One Platinum Elite Status, valid till December 31, 2027
Redeeming Points
- You will earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points on all your purchases. You will still be able to transfer your points to Chase’s partners at a 1:1 ratio.
- Members will also have access to Points Boost. As per Chase, members can use this benefit to double the value by getting up to 2 cents per points when they book via Points Boost. All other redemptions will be at a flat 1 cent per point.
Analysis
This is a great card if you’re able to use many of the credits on offer. Also, if you have legitimate business expenses, then it becomes pretty easy to earn points in categories like hotels and airlines, in addition to spend on search and social media advertising.
If you live near or travel to an airport that has a Sapphire lounge, then you’ll be able to use the lounge access benefit frequently. Moreover, the $300 travel credit and $500 Edit credit should be pretty easy to use during each cycle. The Google Workspace credit is a good addition in my opinion. However, in contrast, I don’t know if the ZipRecruiter credit is a benefit that many will end up using.
If you frequently use Lyft and order DoorDash, then you’ll find it pretty to use the credits. Moreover, the gift card benefit is pretty easy to use as you can simply buy gift cards from the website and use them later.
The Pundit’s Mantra
Overall, the welcome bonus is huge. However, you also need to spend a whopping $30,000 in the first 6 months. For businesses that spend that much already, this card should be a no brainer for the first year, given the massive upfront bonus.
However, whether you’ll find the card useful from the second year onwards depends on the factors I listed out in the previous section. Firstly, you’ll need to have enough spend with airlines, hotels and on search/social media advertising. Secondly, you’ll need find the multiple credits useful, in addition to being close to the Sapphire and Priority Pass lounges.
