Tonight, I received a phone call on my cell phone that went something like this.
Me: “Hello.”
Lufthansa: “Hello Mr. Jackson, this is XXX with Lufthansa in Atlanta just calling to reconfirm your flight for tomorrow.”
Me: “Yes, we will be there.”
Lufthansa: “I see you are in seats 2D and 2G. Would you like me to change those for you?”
Me: “No, those seats are just fine.”
Lufthansa: “Is there any assistance you need for tomorrow?”
Me: “No, we’re good.”
Lufthansa: “Thank you and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.”
Me: “Thank you, looking forward to the flight.”
And so begins our First Class adventure on Lufthansa. I’ll review the entire experience right here.

Entirely possible that the phone call was some kind of new premium customer outreach. But I wonder if it has to do with their having experienced an influx of bookings during Sandy…. I’ve watched the seat map for the last couple of weeks, and beginning Friday, it went from half full to mostly full over the course of a couple days in coach.

Good stuff! Love LH F – it ain’t EK but it’s right up there IMO. Food is esoteric sometimes, but service has always been good for me. Phone call must be new – never had those in previous trips either.

When I booked LH F for myself last year I never got a call like that. Must be a new thing they are doing for First Class passengers.
