I was attending a SkateAmerica event in North Dallas so I checked in to the Hyatt Place in Allan, Texas for the night.
This hotel is less than 10 minutes from Allen High school as well as the Credit Union of Texas Event Center and the surrounding bars and restaurants.
Perfect for if you are attending a school football game or an event at the Event Center.
The rate was between $150 and $200 for the night. I had a free night award available, I know that is not the best use of a free night but it was expiring so I made good use.
Hyatt Place’s are really nice hotels, the rooms are slightly bigger than normal with space for a full sofa that becomes a fold out bed.

Checking in:
Parking is free around the hotel so we parked and went to check in. There is just a single check-in spot at the desk which also has the fridge with drinks and snacks for purchase.
Soda, water, coffee, sandwiches, sweets, jerky, other small snack items are all available 24 hours a day.
Let me start by reviewing the downstairs area. This is the bar counter. An assortment of drinks are available.
Coffee and tea were always available too.
The breakfast area:
Free breakfast is included in the stay and is available from 6h30 till 9h00.
There is a good spread of items available. Jams and spreads and cream cheese available for the bread and bagels that you can toast if you so wish.
Fruit is available, as well as a microwave if you need something heated up.
The hot food included hash browns, eggs, bacon, waffles among others.
Different oats and cereal options with milk, as well as an assortment of fruit dishes.
Frosted Flakes, Cheerios, Raisin Bran as well as milk and 2 different juices.
The lamps in the breakfast room were really lovely. Here is a picture, see what you think.
The room:
This is the sofa with footstool and side table. Rather a pleasant space in the room.
As you can see the room has plenty of space. On the right you can see the sofa, it folds out into a wide sofa-bed.
There is a tv unit with a desk attached. Lamps, coffee machine, drawers, place for the fridge, and the tv.
Here are the coffee and tea supplies, the ice bucket, the fridge, as well as the cupboard with luggage rack, iron and ironing board and extra bedding.
All these notes were on the wall at the desk. I like the breakfast instructions, earlier is quieter, later is busier.
This is the view out of the window, nothing special but nice and light.
The bathroom:
Here is the shower in the bath. Basic but it has nice water pressure. Toiletries are by KenetMD Haircare and Skincare.
A small single basin but enough space for my toiletries.
Hotel facilities:
This is the area for waiting for the elevator on my floor. This washer and drier were on my floor too.
A rather pleasant pool area is available. There is a place to barbecue while the family is swimming. I imagine it is busy during summer.
A pleasant sized gym is also available. There are treadmills, bicycles, individual weights, a weight exercise machine and other items.
In the lobby is an office area with computers and printer that you can use if so needed.
This is one of the seating areas in the lobby, nicely designed.
Conclusion:
This is a great hotel to stay in. The rooms are larger, the breakfast is free and well worth it, there is a gym, pool and washing machine.
Everything you need for a successful stay. Enjoy it.
I must say, this looks like a very nice place. They should have a hot tub by the pool, tho.
A hot tub would be fun. Hope you get to try the hotel out one day.
Nice. I ‘ve stayed here a few times and it’s a decent location, but rooms are well maintained, clean an smell fresh.
It is also my default for when I have to stay in North Dallas.
