American Airlines and JAL Apply for Antitrust Immunity

Avatar

American and Japan Airlines have agreed to enter into a Joint Business Agreement (JBA) and filed for antitrust immunity today with the US Department of Transportation.  You can read the press release for the company line on what this means to both airlines.  Let me congratulate American for successfully convincing JAL managers to stay with them and the Oneworld Alliance.  That’s a major business coup for American, and one they can certainly use.  And I can use new opportunities to spend some AAdvantage miles!  🙂
