A Connection to the Greatest Generation

If you still have a connection to “The Greatest Generation” reach out to them today, the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. I am extremely fortunate to have my maternal grandmother, age 94, still sharp as a tack, and in amazingly good physical condition. I just hope I’m able to stand up at 94. I’ll do one better than reach out, I’m getting on an airplane to go see her…something about the magic of travel. 🙂

We lost my grandfather 14 years ago this year. His Quaker upbringing did not allow him to pick up arms against another human being, so he joined the Merchant Marine, because that was safe during World War II….NOT. Of course, it wasn’t about being “safe,” it was about serving a higher purpose. Take a minute away from the interweb and maximum dollar value per point today to reflect, even if just for a minute. And if you still have that connection – reach out.

  1. I wish I still had my father (Pacific Theater) and mother to reach out to. Truly the Greatest Generation.
