I had a chance to visit the Admirals Club in Washington DC with a friend. It gave me the opportunity to see if I would like to sign up for an AA card giving me access.
Ronald Reagan airport in Washington DC has 3 Admirals Club lounges. The lounge in Concourse E is the latest iteration of the Admirals Club in looks and decor but we were in a different concourse and so experienced a ‘normal’ Admirals Club.

Entrance to the lounge:
This is the lobby area, multiple reception desks, a monitor with departing flights and lots of space.
The lounge is nice and spread out with various seats all along the windows.
This is the garden outside the windows for this lounge. A really lovely sight to see. There are also nice views of the gates and planes parked.
There are various normal facilities available in the lounge and some extra thoughtful ones.
The work area with plug points and a printer available.
Here is a nice touch. Separate phone booths, because you know what it is like when you are just relaxing in the lounge and suddenly the guy behind you starts an animated phone conversation.
Food and drink choices:
There is rather a nice choice of food and drinks available. Here are fruits, boiled eggs, yoghurt, etc.
I see scrambled eggs, bagels, muffins, cereal, fruit, a toaster oven and more.
Here is oatmeal, fruit, coffee and more.
Really pretty decor and design. This alcove is elegant and stylish and it only serves snacks and flavored water.
This is the one end of the lounge which has the bar. Looks quite comprehensive. I was there for breakfast so alcohol was not on the cards yet.
My personal experience:
This was a very pleasant experience. As you can see the lounge was not at all busy. I don’t know if that was because of the time I was there or if everyone is at the lounge in Concourse E trying out the latest Admirals Club design.
We sat at the window, nice woodwork around us, a view over the garden and the planes parked. It was a really enjoyable visit.
Overall a good introduction to the Admirals Club lounge experience. My hub is DFW so I already have the Capital One lounge which is a really lovely lounge.
I travel a lot each year so it is time to add either Admirals Club or American Express Centurion to my lounge list.
This lounge definitely got me interested in the Admirals Club.
