This is the latest news concerning the ongoing construction of Terminal F, and some photos I took of the construction site.

The latest press announcement circa May 2025 updated the construction plans for the new Terminal F at DFW airport and the surprising news is that the original plan for a mini terminal and 15 gates has been updated to a full terminal and 31 gates. Of course it is a logical progression as it seems you can never have enough gates in any airport.

The full press announcement is included in the link above, including the official photographs.

This is the view from the tarmac of the new Terminal F. There are illogical differences between this picture and the next picture but I am sure it will be updated in the future. They concern the support legs of the train line and space for planes to pass underneath.

In this picture there are gates on the inside of the SkyLink railway but in the previous picture the legs of the train are too close together for planes to pass through. I am sure there will eventually be modifications to the rail line to allow planes underneath, possibly similar to the new La Guardia terminal.

This picture also includes the new garage (center right) which for the first time will be built between the 2 x 3 lane roads that run through the airport. The drawing has at least 6 floors of parking which will be really useful, especially as there is a walk through from Terminal F to Terminal D. The press release says F will be for American Airlines international flights.

Here is an overhead shot of the existing terminals and train line. Terminal F is below Terminal D in the pictures. Look at how the train line at Terminal F is shaped differently to the other 5 terminals.

I rode past Terminal F on the SkyLink train the other day and am including some photos of the construction.

This picture is as we are passing the last gates in Terminal D, namely D1 and D2, looking towards Terminal F.

Here you can see how the ground has been excavated and the piles and pillars for the terminal are being set.

This is further around the construction site. I would presume they will be doing the same excavation for piles that they are doing on the other side.

Conclusion:

DFW airport is the third busiest airport in the whole world. This expansion will go a long way to ensure that passengers will keep flowing smoothly through all aspects of their travels at DFW.

The first phase of terminal F is still planned to be ready in 2027 with final phases a bit later.
