What does this unfortunate sink in a plane toilet say to passengers?

Who loves to find a dirty toilet or a rotten old sink on a plane? Nobody of course, and coming across something like this does not give a good impression of an airline.

Pretty seats and a clean cabin environment make you feel relaxed and ready to fly. That feeling should extend to anywhere passengers can see, and most times it does. Sometimes it does not.

A Good Sink Or Four

There’s something about a nice sink that gladdens my heart. A piece that is interesting to the eye, clean, and dare I say welcoming is always very appreciated.

All of these made me smile and of course washing my hands became a pleasure, rather than a chore. That’s just the way it should be really.

A Crappy Sink

On the other hand, you get a sink and surround that has been well worn down by excessive cleaning. This is the sink from hell, designed to make you think, “What the hell happened in here?”

Ireland’s Aer Lingus operate this plane that once flew for a Spanish airline (EI-EDS if you’re wondering) and someone along the way has neglected to care for it. Or perhaps it’s been cared for too much! Regardless, it’s not the greatest look, is it?

Overall Thoughts

In reality, no-one is really going to pass remark on the sink. Most of the time, the cabin service, food, entertainment and the seat are going to be the things remembered, especially considering a lot of people don’t visit the toilet during flight.

Even so, having something looking so worn out is not a good look. Fearful flyers might wonder about the rest of their aircraft if they can’t even keep the bathroom spic and span. Or are they spending the money elsewhere and leaving the bathroom for another time? That is more likely, one would think.

What do you think of that sink? Have you seen worse and if so where and when? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
