Uber Ends Flat Rate Fares to Atlanta’s Airport

Avatar

Atlanta Uber fans, be advised that Uber has ended flat rate fares to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Fares are now calculated and the same as other routes, and for many (if not most) of us, that means our airport trips are about to become more expensive if you are a frequent UberBLACK or SUV guest. For example, UberBLACK and UberSUV rates have been set at $50 and $65 respectively. My fare search for airport trips from my ITP (that’s Inside the Perimeter for you non-Atlantans) home yielded the following results.

While an increase is an increase, these fares are not out of line, and are still quite competitive with other black car options like Carey and GroundLink. UberX and XL as well as UberSELECT fares appear to be mostly unchanged.

My ITP fare usually runs $12 to $13 from Grant Park. Hopefully that will remain the same, although I do think they should charge more and pay the drivers more.
