Strasbourg Day 2: More Beauty, More History
Photos of Strasbourg typically show the city's iconic half-timbered houses of the Petite-France neighborhood. And this is for good reason. Of all the places I've seen so far in Strasbourg, this is the pinnacle. I can't stop myself from taking photo after photo. I'm utterly enchanted.
Strasbourg Day 1: Must-See Sights Of This Superb City
I visit Strasbourg, walking the streets and seeing the sights of this city rich with history. From the astronomical clock contained within one of Europe's finest cathedrals, to a brisk cruise on the River Ill, this city has plenty to offer travelers who enjoy the history and culture of both Germany and France. Walk with me on my first day through this gem of the Alsace.
Two Days in Switzerland: Day 2 – Rheinfall and Schaffhausen
My second day in Switzerland is spent on a day trip to Rheinfall and Schaffhausen, two spots in the lowlands that get far less attention than the amazing Alps. With limited time, they made for a great itinerary, and I was even able to enjoy Zurich for an hour before moving onward during my week in Europe.
Two Days in Switzerland: Day 1 – Lake Lucerne and Mount Rigi
After a late arrival into Zurich, I wake up refreshed enough to tackle a day trip to Lucerne and Mount Rigi. As my first full day in Switzerland, it ends up being a perfect way to start my week in Europe. Although I only have two days in this country, I do my best to make the most of it.
24 Hours in Athens: Barely Scratching the Surface
With so much history and so little time, I settle for an overview of much of what Athens offers. Spread around the Aeropagus is the ancient Greek agora, the general meeting place of the city. There are plenty of ruins to see, plus the Parthenon. A mere 24 hours in Athens is nowhere near enough.
Kosovo Day Trip: A Serbian Monastery, Peja, and Mountain Hospitality
If you visit Kosovo, make sure you get out of Pristina. The capital city is certainly worth exploring for a day, not to mention its one euro macchiatos. But not hitting the Kosovo countryside would be a real tragedy. So, make sure you plan at least one Kosovo day trip.
