I stayed in the lovely, lively Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas for the week before the Formula 1 race in November.
Traffic was already a nightmare. It took about 45 minutes by taxi from the airport to the hotel instead of the usual 15 minutes. The taxi driver said that he takes the week of the Grand Prix off as he cannot make a profit doing only 1 trip every hour.
There are a lot of restrictions on movement around the streets because of the barriers up for the race. Just something to remember if you plan to be in Las Vegas during the race period.

For a cost comparison, to stay at the Venetian any day between January 2, 2025 and January 10, 2025 the rate varies between $142 and $712, I presume depending on which event is being held at the hotel on which day.
Checking in:
A very pretty view of the hotel art work while waiting to check in.
This is the reception area that you can see behind the glorious statue. The wait was not too long and I was checked in.
The room:
This is the central area on each floor with 3 passages leading to the rooms stretching out from this seating area.
The suite is lovely. A 2 level room with bed and tv unit on the upper level and full lounge on the lower level.
The bathroom is also lovely with lots of mirrors. Nice walk in shower with only a nozzle, and a lovely wide bath that I used once as you can see below.
Hotel facilities:
The walk to the gym and spa is a bit long but interesting and well worth it when you arrive.
There are many different seating and hanging out areas all around, some with video screens promoting the gym and spa.
This climbing wall is on the side of the stairs going down to the gym. A wonderful element adding to the whole fitness experience.
This is the first sign of the spa. Very elegant.
The store has many different items that you might find useful, lots of appropriate clothing for gymming and remembering your visit.
Here is the Canyon Ranch wellness cafe, a lovely restaurant that serves very healthy meals. Just what you are looking for after your gym workout and spa relaxation.
The pool was closed this evening but here is a shot of the entrance.
The convention center area:
The convention center is part of the attraction of this hotel. Being able to host your event over multiple floors and using large and small ballrooms and meeting rooms, and then also have everyone stay under one roof is a perk of having an event in Las Vegas and especially at the Venetian and Palazzo. There are about 7,100 hotel rooms available in the complex, the second largest hotel in the world.
This is the view on leaving the convention center and heading towards the hotels.
The main hallways:
The classic Italian look of the ceilings and frescoes and pillars and statues in the hotel is amazing. This is the hallway from reception to the casino, the main painted ceiling is wondrous.
A small view of the large casino floor, there are so many different types of games available for your pleasure. The casino floor can get very lively in the evenings.
There are many shops and restaurants around, here is a view of one store concentrating mainly on clothing.
Conclusion:
The Venetian is a great hotel to stay in. It is busy with thousands of guests and visitors congregating in the casino, the restaurants, bars, theaters and shops but the areas for going to your room are protected so that is nice and quieter. There is a lovely food court, some coffee shops and a lot of space. There is a large shopping complex that winds around the waterways on which you can ride on gondolas.
The rooms have views of the strip or the Sphere or the pool deck. A high room gives lovely views over the Las Vegas skyline.
Overall it is a highly recommended experience.
