I stayed at the Hampton Inn by Hilton which is near Sandton City in Johannesburg.
Below is the website for making bookings. Looking over the next 30 days the lowest price is R1353 ($79) and the highest R1823 ($106) per night, really great value.

Arrival:
If you have a vehicle there is a place to park right outside until you are checked in, and then you can move your car to the underground parking or one of the few bays near the entrance. There are at least 2 restaurants that use the greater courtyard for parking so sometimes all the parking will be taken up.

This is the reception area. It also includes the tables that are used for breakfast every morning. More on that breakfast later.
There is a small shop right next to reception where you can buy sweets, chips and drinks. A lot of really good African art on the walls.

Here are 2 more views of the rather large lobby area. Many places to sit and wait, plug points for charging, nice and user friendly.

Accessing the room:
The hotel only has 4 floors but it has a wide footprint so there are a lot of rooms available.

This is the rather bright and colorful hallway that led to my room.

Size wise the room is rather basic but it has all the implements I might need. Fridge, safe, hair drier, slippers, iron, etc.

This is my favorite part of staying in South African hotels and BandB’s. They always have a kettle, proper cups or mugs, teaspoons and liquid milk, not powder.
Tea is an important part of life in South Africa and so all places of accommodation cater for this.

Pleasant bed with plug points on both sides of the bed. Reading lamps and a single comfy chair near the tv bookshelf which also has plug points.

The bathroom:
This is rather a mall bathroom with the loo overlooking the basin, but it has a nice walk-in shower.

Nice shower with a hand wand, and toiletries by Zero/o Naturally KIND formulation.

Hotel facilities:
There is a gym available, not a lot of equipment but seems to have enough to keep you happy.

This is the entrance to the building when you enter from the underground parking. Fun wall art requesting that you Smile!

This is another space in the large lobby area with tv’s that would be useful when there is sport on.

There are 4 tables with chairs and umbrellas outside on an artificial grass surface to give an outdoor park feel. You can see other buildings quite prominent, they are where the restaurants that use the parking spots are situated.

Breakfast:
This is a wide view of the breakfast area as well as more areas to the right.

Starting on the left you have fruit, vegetables, cold meat, olives, and various yoghurt flavors and muesli.

Then the waffle station with nice African wall art. Various toppings, including cream, are available. Really yummy!

Boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, and various pastries. Then beef sausage and roasted potatoes. You see prominent signs listing that there are no pork items. This is because there is a large Muslim population in South Africa.

Around the corner to the right is this section that does contain pork, namely crispy bacon.

This island in the middle has a toaster, many different toast spreads, fruit, some muesli and other cereal items.

Conclusion:
This is wall art as you enter the lobby of the hotel. The whole vibe of the hotel is light hearted and colorful. It is a pleasant place to stay and is about 5 minutes from Sandton City, one of the prime shopping centers in the country.
If you are on a bit of a budget you cannot go wrong here, imagine a room and extensive breakfast for under $80. See you here soon.
