I always enjoy a short flight with British Airways in Club Europe, as you’re always doing something. By that I mean that eating and drinking take up the time so you’re never bored.
After an overnight stay at the Moxy Southampton, I headed to the airport and had a nice breakfast in the lovely Spitfire Lounge. Eventually, it was time to board my flight and we got on the bus which took us to our plane.

I was in the same seat on the same aircraft as my flight the previous day. Those wanting to see the cabin plus all the leg room available in 2C and 2D should check out that review.
Brunch On A Short Flight
Once again it was a very light load and after the usual safety demonstration we took to the sky. The extremely efficient BA CityFlyer crew had the brunch meals delivered almost immediately after we were in the air.
Flying Along To Dublin
Once I had scoffed all the food, I sat back and enjoyed the rest of the flight. I usually sit on the A side of the plane, but this time I was opposite, so the views were different to what I am used to seeing.
Overall Thoughts
Even a short flight can be a fun flight when there is a pleasant meal, nice drinks, good service and views. I really enjoy flying back and forth on British Airways between Ireland and the UK, as regular readers are well aware.

Nice meal for such a short flight. On US carriers, you wouldn’t get anything except a snack basket to pick something from. It’s really sad. That is why I try to fly international carriers anytime that I fly out of the US. Even in coach, I was on a CPT-JNB flight and we got a chocolate croissant, and that was on Lift an African LCC. On a Delta flight that short in the US, you would get a Bisoff cookie or a tiny bag of almonds. It is really sad over here.
Yes, I’ve noticed that about the US carriers, short flights get almost nothing up front. Generally everywhere except the US will provide you with catering of some sort, often also in economy. It’s one reason I don’t really like flying domestic First Class in the USA. Ahh well, it is what it is – everywhere is different!
