Last year I ran the O’Hare 5K/10K “Run on the Runway” Run on September 29, 2013 (thanks to @MichaelWTravels for posting about it). It was a GREAT time! Some of my photos are below.
WHAT?
Runners, walkers, and a lot of children of all ages (strollers were welcome in the past, double-check the rules) get to run on an actual airport runway at O’Hare and Midway Airports. Both 5K runs are family-friendly events designed for all ages and abilities. Each offers a truly unique race course, amazing photo opportunities, cool gear, entertainment and great food.
