Background
I recently completed a last-minute one-night stay at the Palazzo Las Vegas and booked the AMEX FHR rate. The last time I stayed at the Palazzo was in 2017, and I had a pretty solid stay. The Palazzo Las Vegas is located on the north side of the Las Vegas Strip, conveniently across the Wynn Resort and the Fashion Show Mall. It’s connected to the original Venetian Las Vegas, and both resorts are Venice-themed. And now, it’s the most convenient hotel to the new Sphere venue. I personally like the Palazzo Las Vegas location a lot, and it’s pretty easy to drive in and park as well. Wynn has historically been my go-to Vegas hotel, and I do like their (smaller) but more recently renovated rooms. But the Palazzo was pretty solid this time, too, and I would definitely consider staying here again.
Takeoff Points
Date of Stay: February 2025
Room Type: Palazzo Luxury Two Queen Suite
Pros: Very large and comfortable standard rooms, nice resort grounds & casino.
Cons: Lack of power ports, the room is a bit dated, and towels are very rough.
Check-In
I arrived around the standard check-in time of 3 pm, and there was no line, which was nice. To the left of the main check-in line is a special line for AMEX FHR guests only.

A friendly associate helped me, and she gave me the sheet that went over the AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) benefits, which I’ve highlighted in the next section. I had booked the 2nd level room type- Luxury Suite 2 Queen City View, and she said normally that would get a one-category upgrade to Strip View, though she said she would be nice and give me a two-category upgrade to Sphere View. It worked out nicely because I did want to see the Sphere, so that was nice, but don’t expect any extensive upgrades here. I also got a guaranteed 4 pm late checkout, but I only needed to 1 pm, which was easily granted.

I found booking through AMEX FHR to be a pretty good deal, as my total stay, including taxes and fees, came out to about $260 for the night for my Sunday night stay. I was able to use the $100 credit at Mott 32 (which I planned to eat at regardless of staying at the Palazzo), and I used the breakfast credit at the Grand Lux.
Palazzo Luxury Two Queen Suite
Our room was assigned to be on one of the highest floors, the 47th. The elevator bay is labeled “private express elevators,” which serve the highest floors of 37-50. I thought it wouldn’t be heavily trafficked, but it often was quite crowded.

The elevators were speedy, which was nice, at least. The elevator landing and hallways were in great condition.

I really did like our floor as it had a ton of higher-level suites, which meant less foot traffic, and we hardly ran into anyone on our floor. It was pretty quiet, too, considering how many rooms the hotel has.
The room is quite large for the standard offering, clocking in at 725 square feet.
As you enter the room, the bathroom is towards the left, and when you continue down, there are two queen beds separated by a nightstand in the middle. Next to one of the beds is a small closet that features some hangers, a safe, luggage rack, and iron/board. Additionally, two robes are offered, but no slippers are provided. In front of each bed is an ottoman, and there is a television.

The bed I was on was a bit sagging on the left, and the pillows could be improved upon. Definitely more 4-star level bedding.
Heading on towards the back of the room, there’s a half-wall separation that leads you to the living room. There’s an L-shaped couch with an ottoman. There is also a dining table with two chairs, as well as a desk near the window with a spinning chair. Additionally, there is also a TV here. Plus, a refreshment center is offered with mini bar items for purchase as well as a mini bar with snacks.
One minor quirk is that there is a lack of power ports in the room.

View
Our room had a sphere view, which was pretty cool. You could see this sphere towards the right as well as the Wynn Golf Course to the left.

I did like that they had a texting service to ask questions/submit requests during your stay, and they always responded to me in a timely fashion, which impressed me, considering how big the resort is.
Bathroom
In the bathroom, there is a dual vanity as well as a tub, separate shower, and a small vanity area with a mirror and stool, as well as a separate water closet. For amenities, a nail filer, cotton balls, cotton swabs, and a sewing kit were provided.

Toiletries were hotel branded in a white tea and rose scent. Body lotion, conditioner, shampoo, and shower gel were provided in single-use bottles. Also, bar soap in a gel form was provided.
The biggest con experienced was the towels. They were so rough and used up that even some 3-star hotels have better towels.
Dining
Between the connected resorts of Palazzo and Venetian, there are over 40 places to eat.
During my stay, I had dinner at Mott 32, as it’s been on my list for a while. I liked the modern and upscale vibe, and the food was solid. However, it was a bit pricey. I would definitely go back and perhaps try other items on the menu!

For breakfast, we had the Grand Lux Cafe at the Palazzo, which is really just the Cheesecake Factory. I was impressed by the taste of the breakfast offerings, despite the seating feeling a bit sticky and not the most comfortable (though many Cheesecake Factory locations feel a bit sticky and greasy to me, haha).

Amenities & Resort Fee
I was only here for one night and didn’t get to take advantage of the fitness center at Canyon Ranch, which I wish I had.
The resort fee is $55 plus tax and includes:
- Access for two to the fitness facility within the Canyon Ranch® spa + fitness
- In-suite internet access (WiFi or Ethernet)
- Boarding pass printing
- Unlimited local and toll-free calls
- Access to newspapers and magazines using the PressReader app while connected as a guest to Venetian or Palazzo WiFi
Not many important inclusions, so it’s more of just another wasted fee.
Additionally, self-parking was $20 a night.
The casinos at both the Palazzo and Venetian were always pretty festive and had lots of people. I enjoyed my time testing my luck at the slot machines at both of the properties.

There is also the Grand Canal Shoppes if you’d like some retail therapy, as well as the famous indoor/outdoor gondola rides to feel like you are in Venice.
The Verdict
Overall, the AMEX FHR Palazzo Las Vegas rate was great for my one-night stay. I enjoyed the perks offered and the spacious room. I would definitely consider staying at the property again during my future visits to Vegas and utilizing the AMEX FHR program for booking.
