American Airlines First Class Miami to St Kitts.

Had a rather good flight from Miami to St Kitts on the American Airlines Boeing 737. We were upgraded to First Class 24 hours before the flight so we were able to board in Group 1.
I do not often get to upgrade on American. I am Platinum status but I am normally around 18 to 20 in the upgrade list so it never happens. This flight was not very busy so we were lucky. You can see from this shot of the cabin that the flight was not full at all.
The service:
We really enjoyed the experience. The steward was very helpful and courteous and made the flight very enjoyable.
We sat in seats 4A and C. Sitting in the last row only had one negative. By the time we were asked what we wanted to eat they had almost run out of the one meal so we received one of each. The people in 4D and F did not have a choice.
We were provided with nice warm nuts and drinks before takeoff. Lovely to have a vodka and orange before you are even flying.
The seat and position were perfect. All the space I might need.
The meals:
The meals were amazing. For a 2 and a half hour flight it was a lovely surprise to receive these delicious meals.
My wife had the vegetarian dish and I had the meat (curried chicken) meal.
Her meal was really great. The salad had so many items including the sliced boiled egg, goat cheese and various others. The pita bread and hummus was also very tasty. Even the desert, a lovely chocolate/coffee cake was delicious.
We held the cake over to enjoy it with tea after the meal.
My main dish was a curried chicken breast with an unusual sauce on top on rice and peppers. I also received the pita and hummus and chocolate/coffee cake. The flavors were wonderful, all in all a really tasty meal.
We enjoyed tea after lunch and loved having the cake with it.
Of course before the meal we were offered wine or another drink with lunch. I chose a second vodka and orange juice and my wife had white wine.
The rest room:
The first class rest room was at the front of the plane and I went in to be able to report on it.
A normal sized rest room that was nice and clean. A pleasant experience.
I hadn’t noticed this drawer before. It is the drawer containing all the extra supplies in case they run out. Masks and gloves were also available.
We did not even use the entertainment system or the wi-fi as we were occupied the whole flight by the service.
If you are thinking about upgrading your flight I would highly recommend that you do, especially if it is 2 and a half hours or longer. You will definitely enjoy the service. This was only my second issued upgrade, my first was from Boston to LA which was about 5 hours, also a great experience.
Final thoughts:
And then it was all over.
Nice to deplane by the stairs so you get to see the plane up close.
(This picture was taken when we boarded going home).
This First Class flight was a great way to start our island holiday.
