Review: Air France Lounge Paris CDG Terminal 2E Hall L

Background

Before my Air France business class flight from Paris (CDG) to Los Angeles (LAX), I had about 40 minutes to visit a lounge as I spent some time shopping in the terminal. The lounge access provided was the Air France Lounge Paris CDG Terminal 2E Hall L. There aren’t any alternative lounges and the only Priority Pass Lounge is in the Yotel Lobby (lol).

Location & Access

Depending on which hall you’re flying out of, you may access a different Air France Lounge. Since I was flying out of Hall L, I visited this one. At Paris (CDG), Air France has 5 Business Class lounges (Terminals 2E (halls K, L, and M), 2F, and 2G). I know, confusing right?

Hours of the lounge are daily from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM.

You can access the lounge by flying business class on Air France/Skyteam (no Business Lite fares), if you have Flying Blue Gold/Platinum status, or SkyTeam Elite Plus status.

The Lounge

The Air France Lounge Paris CDG Terminal 2E Hall L is quite large. It also feels very modern and bright and has windows along the entire left side of the lounge which allows for a lot of natural light to come in.

From when we entered, it was like a long rectangle all the way to the back to the lounge where the buffet and food were served. And in between is plenty of seating, with a variety of seating options from tables to sofas to chairs. Despite the lounge being large, it was quite crowded on my Wednesday visit right before noon. Near the entrance, there is a set of restrooms, and there is another set in the middle of the lounge closer to the relaxation areas and spa.

Food

There is a smaller buffet and refreshment center in the center of the lounge, but the main food area is in the back. The smaller buffet had some hot dishes, a salad bar, cold cuts, and canned drinks plus a coffee maker.

There was also a self-serve wine & champagne section.

I generally went to the larger food section in the back of the lounge and for hot dishes during my lunchtime visit,t they had a lemon chicken & olives dish, potatoes, and roasted turkey.

The lemon chicken almost tasted like a curry chicken and it was delicious. Probably one of the best buffet-style lounge items I’ve had!

Other Amenities

The lounge does offer showers, and two gender-separated saunas as well. I didn’t have time to use any of these facilities, but they are available for those who would like to use them.

There is a relaxation area/nap room near the showers, which would be good if you need to nap or want to relax.

Clarins Spa

Air France and Clarins have a partnership where you can get free spa treatments in the relaxation areas of the Business lounges. Unfortunately, treatments are available daily, except on Wednesdays. And, of course, I was flying on a Wednesday. Hours of the spa are from 7:40 AM to 1:30 PM and from 3:20 PM to 8:30 PM.

The relaxing facials suited to travelers last about 15–20 minutes. I have heard from other reports that sometimes it is quite hard to get a slot if you don’t have a huge layover, or show up extra early.

The Verdict

Overall, the Air France Lounge Paris CDG Terminal 2E Hall L was a decent lounge to stop by before my flight and have a light lunch. I enjoyed the chicken served, and it was nice to have my hunger settled before hopping on the plane. It was a shame that the Clarins Spa was closed for the day and that I couldn’t report on that.
